What changes compared with the CRF50F
Instead of 49 cc, the kids motorcycle Honda CRF110F has a 109 cc four-stroke engine, carried by a sturdy chassis. Honda wants young riders to feel as if they were on a big motorcycle. Its tank takes 4.5 litres, and 2025 is the current model year.
At 71 kg, the CRF110F is no lightweight. Standing still, your child should hold it securely, put both feet down and reach the levers and the gear lever comfortably. This sitting test is a more reliable guide than any age recommendation.
Semi-automatic gearbox and electric starter in everyday riding
The centrifugal clutch takes care of pulling away; your child shifts with the foot and needs no hand for the clutch. That leaves the mind clear for choosing lines, braking points and where to look – basics that will count later on every motocross bike.
A press of the button on the electric starter brings the engine to life. Especially after a tip-over off-road, this saves tiring kick-starting and keeps your child in the flow.
Before buying: rent and ride on a course
Before you buy, you can opt for motocross rental: the MX-Academy brings rental bikes in the sizes CRF50, CRF110, CRF125 and CRF250 to every course. On the kids’ courses, your child sits on exactly the CRF50F, CRF110F and CRF125F models.

Should your child start on the CRF110F or on the CRF50F first?
That depends on age and size. The CRF50F starts at around 4 years, while the CRF110F covers ages 8 to 11. Children who only start at this age can begin directly on the CRF110F, as it too has no clutch lever.
Does your child need to be able to pick up the CRF110F alone?
It helps a great deal. At 71 kg, lifting it back up takes strength and technique, and every motorcycle tips over at some point off-road. Practise picking it up together before your child rides laps independently.
Where can your child practise with the CRF110F?
The CRF110F is designed for off-road use by children and is not meant for the road. Suitable places are motocross tracks and closed-off areas. Regular motocross training on MX-Academy courses combines a safe setting with expert guidance.
When does it make sense to move up to the CRF125F?
As soon as the CRF110F gets cramped and your child has throttle, brake and foot shifting firmly under control. The CRF125F is intended from around 10 years and brings a four-speed gearbox operated with a clutch lever. According to Honda, the CRF110F serves as a springboard towards bigger models such as the CRF125F and CRF150R.
